I think Glan Martins is a competitive player and gives a balance to the national team - Fernando Varela : Interview
Fernando Varela is a coach who has got massive experience in the Indian Subcontinent having coached the likes of Gokulam Kerala FC, Churchill Brothers FC, and is currently the gaffer of Sreenidhi FC. Let's get to know his thoughts on Indian Football through an exclusive interview conducted by the Indian Football Reports in association with Optob Interviews

1. What will you say about the structure of Indian football?
Ans : The structure needs to be modified, and is to be expanded so that the teams in the ISL and I-League can have more games for the players and help the development of football in India. Also the development of grassroots football should be made more competitive and with better youth development.

2. Which Indian player do you like?
Ans: There are many good Indian players and they are improving season after season, I like Glan Martins, I think he is a competitive player and gives balance to the national team. Last year with Churchill brothers we helped several players to increase their value in the transfer market such as Bryce Miranda, Kingslee Fernandes and Wendell Coelho.

3. Your best coaching memory so far?
Ans: Maybe in the Durand cup when I was the gaffer of Gokulam Kerala FC and we defeated East Bengal in the semi-final and Mohun Bagan in the final at the Salt Lake Stadium.

4. Your message to the Indian football fans?
Ans: To the football fans in particular I have to say that from our place we will always do our best to show good football and will always be trying to help the development of Indian football with clear and sustainable ideas.
