"I also hope India can find Next Sunil Chhetri very soon!" - Yorkin Nazarov: Interview

Indian Football Reports exclusive interview with Vasco SC Goa's former Uzbekistan midfielder Yorkin Nazarov in association with Optob Interviews. Excerpts...

What will you say about Indian Football. Where we can see Indian Football going in the next 4-5 years?

Let's start with the fact that when I played in India there was no ISL. Two interesting leagues are very good for the growth of football in the country.

You followed games of I-League, ISL. How interesting does it look to you?

I watched the first round of the I-league, all the games. Gameplay was good for the growth of Indian Football!

About interesting, Real Kashmir only plays for the result. From corners, free kicks they scored goals. Maybe football is not spectacular not beautiful but the team plays to win.

Andrey Chernyshov's team Mohammedan plays different football, I liked his team. Also liked those teams which play with Local Coaches.

One thing has improved, earlier foreign players were from Africa and Brazil now foreigners comes from different countries.

Teams from Goa, in ISL FC Goa after 6th position, in I league Churchill lost the first round and played bad football they did not control the ball. Teams from Goa have always played technical football, I hope they can do better in the upcoming games.

What's the difference you say between Indian & Uzbekistan football?
Uzbekistan football is more faster & more technical. You can see the game between Nasaf and ATKMB 6-0 semi-final, AFC Cup. The reason behind that is, the academies of Uzbekistan works well most of the young footballers comes from there. In India also, the fight is very strong between players to get chance into ISL.

Which Indian player do you think can make a good name in the future?

By a name, I can't say anyone. But what I can say is, Indian footballers if get well trained & practiced, they can play in a good league in the upcoming years. I also hope India can find "Next Sunil Chhetri" very soon!
